The Role
We’re seeking an AI Prompt Engineer (QA-Centric) to join our technical team in Malibu. While the title emphasizes AI and prompt engineering, the real heartbeat of this role is quality assurance. You’ll make sure that every prompt, workflow, and AI-generated experiment meets ClickMint’s standards for reliability, accuracy, and performance before it goes live with clients.
This role blends creative prompt engineering with hardcore QA discipline. You’ll write, test, and refine prompts, break them in edge-case scenarios, validate outputs across multiple verticals, and build out scalable QA frameworks for AI-driven CRO experiments.
What You’ll Do
Prompt Engineering & Validation
- Design, refine, and stress-test prompts across e-commerce use cases (copywriting, UI variants, analytics interpretation).
- Build reusable prompt libraries and evaluate their performance across clients.
- Validate outputs for consistency, tone, accuracy, and logical integrity.
Quality Assurance (Primary Focus)
- Create and execute test plans for AI workflows, CRO experiments, and platform integrations.
- Develop automated and manual QA processes to ensure experiment stability pre-deployment.
- Write and maintain detailed bug reports, edge-case documentation, and QA scripts.
- Collaborate with engineers to triage and resolve issues in AI logic or experiment execution.
Experimentation Support
- Partner with CRO strategists to align QA protocols with experiment design.
- Verify that AI-driven experiment variants render correctly across CMS platforms (Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento).
- Ensure code snippets, integrations, and tracking pixels are clean and error-free.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work alongside dev, CRO, and product teams to push experiments through QA to launch.
- Communicate test results and risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactively suggest process improvements for AI testing and experiment QA.
What You Bring
- Technical Background
- 2–4 years in software QA, test engineering, or related roles.
- Solid understanding of QA methodologies (unit, integration, regression, and UAT).
- Familiarity with QA tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Postman, JUnit, PyTest, or similar).
- Comfort with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and QA automation scripting.
- AI & Prompt Engineering Exposure
- Experience experimenting with LLMs (e.g., GPT, Claude, LLaMA) in real workflows.
- Knowledge of prompt design techniques, edge case testing, and bias/error detection.
- Familiarity with APIs and embeddings a plus.
Soft Skills
- Obsessive attention to detail and ability to break things constructively.
- Clear communicator who can translate QA findings into actionable fixes.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, experimental startup environment.
Nice-to-Have
- Background in e-commerce, CRO, or performance marketing.
- Exposure to analytics tools (GA4, Hotjar, PostHog) and A/B testing platforms.
- Scripting ability in Python/JavaScript for test automation.
- UX sensitivity — ability to flag not just bugs, but friction in user journeys.

Salary
- Base salary range: $130,000 ‒ $180,000 / year DOE
