About the Technology Team
The technology team at Gifthealth is where the innovation happens. We’re responsible for developing and maintaining the software that powers all of our customer and internal facing products. Our software is used by patients, providers, pharmacies, and our own internal staff across the US.
About the Role
We're looking for a highly motivated and independent Prompt Engineer to join our team. This is a fully remote role focused on refining, testing, and expanding our front-line customer support AI and automation tools. This role is a key part of our strategy to bring critical knowledge and skills in-house.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct regular audits of our current AI tool implementations, creating comprehensive documentation for team members and leadership.

Clean up and improve existing AI prompts and workflows to reduce bloat and increase accuracy and efficiency.

Create and maintain a suite of automated tests, in order to maintain quality and prevent regressions. Also conduct manual testing of features and changes.

Audit samples of customer phone calls to verify the accuracy of our success rate metrics and diagnose issues with the current automation tools.

Independently identify areas for improvement and propose strategic changes to address them.

Work with customer service leadership to discover new opportunities where AI tools can help reduce the workload for live agents.

Collaborate with the engineering team to request necessary API changes and new endpoints to support and enhance our AI tools (e.g., retrieving customer information).
Requirements:
Qualifications

A background in customer service or experience working with users: the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of customer interactions and common issues, and an ability to anticipate customer needs

Strong writing and verbal communication skills are essential, with a particular eye toward clear, customer-facing language

Experience with creating and improving internal procedures and analyzing how to best address common questions or issues. Prior experience with AI tools or prompt engineering is preferred. Candidates for this role should be comfortable learning new technology and techniques in the AI space (e.g. Chain of Thought)
