Our challenge
The AI Prompt Engineer will play a critical role in creating sophisticated prompt commands and establishing a robust prompt management system for enterprise deployment. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of application development lifecycle, enabling them to craft technical prompts for developers, testers, and techno-functional users that improve productivity and accuracy across the full development and operational spectrum.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Dallas, TX/Pittsburgh, PA is $100k - $110k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop advanced prompt commands aligned with enterprise application workflows.
- Build, organize, and maintain a centralized prompt library for scalable, enterprise-wide usage.
- Create technical prompts tailored for developers, QA testers, and techno-functional users to streamline scenarios across the application lifecycle.
- Collaborate with application developers, QA teams, and functional users to understand processes and craft relevant prompts.
- Implement best practices for prompt versioning, validation, and reuse within the organization.
- Ensure prompts facilitate effective interaction with AI models while safeguarding accuracy, relevance, and safety.
- Document prompt strategies, usage protocols, and library architecture for enterprise users.
- Continuously improve prompts based on feedback, AI output analysis, and evolving application needs.
- Provide guidance and training to technical teams on optimized prompt usage in enterprise workflows.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in prompt engineering within enterprise or application development environments.
- Strong understanding of application development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Solid background in software development, with experience in coding and scripting (e.g., Java, C#, SQL, Python, JavaScript, etc.).
- Deep knowledge of NLP, large language models, and AI interaction design.
- Experience in setting up and managing enterprise prompt libraries, repositories, or knowledge bases.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts into well-structured prompts.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and best practices.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior hands-on experience in application development projects across multiple phases.
- Familiarity with AI deployment tools, version control, and documentation platforms.
- Understanding of enterprise application architecture and integration points.
- Exposure to AGILE or DevOps methodologies.
