Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Prompt Engineer in Product Development role based in the Detroit Metropolitan Area. The Prompt Engineer will design, test, and refine AI prompts to support product ideation, design exploration, and content creation for Rainbow Loom® kits, instructions, and related experiences. Responsibilities include collaborating closely with product designers, engineers, and marketing to translate creative and technical requirements into effective prompt frameworks and workflows. The role involves building and maintaining prompt libraries, evaluating AI outputs for quality and brand alignment, and documenting best practices for internal teams. The Prompt Engineer will also support experimentation with new AI tools, contribute to user research and prototyping, and help streamline the product development pipeline using AI-assisted methods.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in prompt design, iterative prompt tuning, and evaluation of AI-generated outputs for accuracy, creativity, and brand consistency.
- Experience using generative AI tools (e.g., large language models, image generation tools) to support product development, content creation, or creative brainstorming.
- Background in product development, industrial design, UX, or related fields with the ability to translate product requirements into structured prompts and workflows.
- Ability to analyze data and user feedback to improve prompts, refine AI-assisted processes, and inform product decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document prompt strategies, guidelines, and best practices for cross-functional teams.
- Comfort working on-site in a hands-on environment, collaborating closely with designers, engineers, and marketing on physical and digital product concepts.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Engineering, or related discipline), or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in toys, education, children’s products, or creative tools is a plus, as is familiarity with kid-focused content standards and safety considerations.
